The eighteenth-century Villa Signorini
Taken in Home of the Golden Mile opens right onto a road that slopes gently toward the sea , and that led in the direction of the fort of Granatello , built in the first half of 1700 to defend the nearby Royal Palace Bourbon , as can be seen in the map Duke of Noja , and of which today there remains even a few ruins . Today the street , which is called Via Roma , is on the border between the towns of Portici and Ercolano , near Naples .
Villa Signorini ( Belmonte Granite ) is located almost in the middle of the road on the right side . The Villa is one of the few in good condition and the outside recalls the typical ways of Domenico Antonio Vaccaro , author of the nearby Villa Maltese , and must be considered also by the same architect . The façade set on two floors is decorated with eighteenth-century stucco that hug the ground floor windows and balcony doors on the main floor . Elegant is the design of the portal ashlar piperno where ornamental scrolls and the keystone as corbels supporting the balcony floor above .
A wall closes on both sides of the vision of the garden interno.La rear facade facing the garden which adjoins the lower park of the Royal Palace in Portici , built Charles III as the Royal Palace for the dynasty of the Bourbons of Naples before construction the most imposing Royal Palace of Caserta , and that of the Maltese villa. The statue of Leda with the Swan at the garden center introduces the tent that houses the eighteenth century crib. From the main floor you go down to the garden through a large terrace at the ends they jut two scales , taking up the same reason villa of Elboeuf , Lancellotti and Villa of the same Royal Palace . Two pavilions , one of which is larger and more richly decorated , which now houses an elaborate eighteenth-century crib exquisite , featuring the lovely garden that is embellished and adorned with a fountain on axis with the entrance of the Villa . Particularly nice is the statue of Leda and the Swan which is at the center of the fountain.
